How to Make This Recipe

Step 1
Thoroughly clean the skin of the potatoes. Slice off the ends of the potatoes and cut them into similarly-sized wedges. If choosing to do the optional soak, soak the wedges in a bowl of water for 1 hour at this point.
Step 2
If soaked, dry potatoes. Add wedges to a large bowl and coat with the oil. Season with salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Sprinkle arrowroot over top and coat evenly.
Step 3
Add seasoned and oiled wedges to the basket in a single layer.
Step 4
Air fry at 400F for 8 minutes, flip or shake the basket, and then continue air frying for an additional 2-8 minutes depending on the model and size of the potatoes.

The time and temp of air fryer sweet potato wedges is 400F for 6-8 minutes per side. The time is a guideline depending on the model and the size of the wedges.
Start with 8 minutes on one side, flip, and then 4-8 minutes on the second side.
Generally, smaller potato wedges cook up faster than larger cuts. I've found that larger models (like the Ultrean I use) tend to take longer than smaller models like the Ninja Speedi that I also tested this recipe in.
The soak for these potatoes is optional. However, soaking potatoes before cooking helps to release much of the starch making them more crispy.
They may be overcrowded in the basket, cut too large, have too much moisture, or too much oil has been used.
Sweet potatoes in general are not super crispy potatoes like russets or Idaho potatoes. However, using the tips above along with adding the arrowroot or cornstarch, leaving the skin on, and doing the optional soak will help the sweet potatoes to be as crispy as possible.
You can also blot the potatoes with a paper towel after cutting to soak up much of the moisture.

- 2 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot
Instructions
- Thoroughly clean the outside of the potatoes with a brush. Slice off the ends of the potatoes and cut potatoes into similarly-sized wedges.2 large sweet potatoes
Optional Soak
- If time permits, soak wedges in a large bowl of water for 1 hour. Drain and dry potatoes before proceeding.
- Add wedges to a large bowl and coat with the coconut oil, arrowroot, and seasonings. Stir to coat.2 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, 1 tablespoon arrowroot
- Add wedges in a single layer to the air fryer. Air fry potatoes at 400F for 8 minutes then flip or shake the basket and cook for an additional 4-8 minutes.
